Biography
Dr. Thando Njovane is the GDO at the African Studies Centre, Rhodes University, one of the Centers partnered with the Africa Multiple Cluster. She is an Andrew Mellon early career scholar and a lecturer in the Department of Literary Studies in English. Thando teaches early modern Japanese and post-colonial literatures. Her research interests include psychoanalysis, memory, modernisms, contested pasts, political philosophy, feminisms and higher education. She is the co-director of Finding Africa, a transcontinental, collaborative African Studies platform by a team dispersed across Rhodes University and the universities of Leeds and Bristol in the UK.
