ICDL Database
Launched in November 2021, the main goal of the ICDL Bibliographical Database is to provide Cluster members with a structured, accessible, and comprehensive body of scholarship in intersectionality, critical diversity literacy, Afro-feminist, Black feminist, and decolonial studies. It was created to make these fields more visible, searchable, and usable for research within the Cluster. By compiling and curating relevant literature, the database with over 1500 entries demonstrates the academic depth and legitimacy of these knowledge traditions while addressing uncertainties about their availability and relevance. It supports researchers in integrating intersectional, diversity-sensitive, and decolonial perspectives into their methodologies, theoretical frameworks, and research questions.
Ultimately, the ICDL database functions as a research infrastructure that advances the Cluster’s agenda of reconfiguring African Studies by embedding multiplicity, reflexivity, and relationality into knowledge production.
