The Africa Multiple Cluster Chronicles bring literary and artistic perspectives into the life of the Cluster, inviting acclaimed writers and artists to observe, engage with and reflect on its people, research and activities.

The Cluster Chronicles are a public engagement initiative of the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence, curated by Prof. Dr. Ute Fendler. Through temporary residencies in Bayreuth, invited writers and artists become part of the Cluster community, engaging with researchers, participating in discussions and exploring its intellectual and social life from their own creative perspectives.

Their contributions take different forms, from literary reflections and poetry to photography and other artistic expressions. Together, they offer personal and sometimes unexpected insights into the encounters, ideas and conversations that shape the Cluster, building a growing archive of creative engagement at the intersection of art and research.
