  • As part of the selection process for the Junior Research Group leaders, the Africa Multiple Cluster has invited two candidates to campus, who will give lectures on January 15, 2021. Virtual attendance will be possible.

Dr. Antonia Witt is a post-doctoral researcher at the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF) where she currently leads a DFG-funded project on local perceptions of African regional interventions. Her research focuses on international and regional organizations, authority and legitimacy in the international realm, as well as the (local) politics of international interventions. She has a background in Political Science, African Studies, and Peace and Conflict Research and obtained her PhD in 2016 from the University of Leipzig. For her PhD dissertation on the African Union’s post-coup intervention in Madagascar, she received the Christiane-Rajewsky Award (2017) of the German Association for Peace and Conflict Studies (AFK) as well as the Young Scholars’ Award (2018) of the Association for African Studies in Germany (VAD).
