Maum Percussion 마음퍼커션
– A Percussive Exploration of the Heart with Chang Jae Hyo

Chang Jae Hyo: "I have chosen the title “Maum Percussion” for this performance. In Korean, Maum (마음) is a rich and layered word that can mean heart, mind, soul, inner self, identity, or emotion, depending on the context.

With Maum Percussion, I hope to create a series of performances over the coming years. Through percussion music built on simple forms and structures, I aim to invite audiences to look inward and to share a moment of emotional resonance with others in the same space.

This performance is an attempt to play the hearts of countless people who have passed down the language of percussion over thousands of years. I am truly delighted that the very first Maum Percussion concert will take place in Bayreuth.

저는 제가 하게 될 공연의 타이틀로 '마음 퍼커션 - Maum Percussion'으로 생각하고 있습니다. 한국어 마음은 여러가지 뜻을 지니고 있습니다. 문장에 따라 하트, 마인드, 영혼, 내면, 자아, 감성 등으로 해석되기도 합니다.
저는 마음 퍼커션이라는 타이틀로 앞으로 몇 년간에 걸쳐 일종의 시리즈 공연을 만들어가려고 합니다. 단순한 구조와 형식으로 이루어진 타악기 연주를 통해 내면을 들여다보고, 같은 공간에 있는 사람들과 교감을 나눌 수 있기를 바랍니다.

타악기에 담긴 수천년을 이어온 수많은 사람들의 마음을 연주하는 공연 '마음 퍼커션'. 그 첫 공연을 바이로이트에서 하게 되어 정말 기쁘게 생각합니다."
