The Gender and Diversity Office of the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence presents:
A Transnational Round Table: Global African Feminisms in/and the Contemporary Diaspora
Time: 2 PM – 5 PM
African feminisms are dynamic, transnational, and deeply rooted in history, politics, and lived experience. This round table brings together leading scholars, writers, and activists to reflect on how African feminist knowledges, identities, and practices are shaped across global and diaspora contexts.
At a moment of rising anti-democratic, anti-feminist, and neo-masculinist movements worldwide, the dialogue asks: how can African feminist thought reconfigure the ways we understand gender, resistance, and solidarity? Where do intersectionality and decoloniality meet in African feminist praxis, and how do these frameworks speak back to global knowledge production?
