Frantz Fanon, a French psychiatrist from Martinique, has just been appointed head of department at the psychiatric hospital in Blida, Algeria. His methods contrast with those of the other doctors in a context of colonization. A biopic in the heart of the Algerian war where a fight is waged in the name of Humanity.

SYNOPSIS

 Frantz Fanon has just been appointed chef medical officer at the psychiatric hospital of Blida, in Algeria.

Very soon, the innovative methods and the humanistic treatment he gives to Algerian patients attracts him the wrath of his colleagues and the director of the institution.

However Frantz Fanon is not a man who lets be stepped on. His determination and his ideas generates interest of FLN and his leader Abane Ramdane, who offers to join the cause.

In a context where tensions between the French army and FLN are becoming increasingly evident, Frantz Fanon sounds like a traitor. With his wife Josie, they are caught in a vortex of violence which lead them to take up the cause for the independance of Algeria.

Frantz Fanon, un psychiatre français originaire de la Martinique vient d’être nommé chef de service à l’hôpital psychiatrique de Blida en Algérie. Ses méthodes contrastent avec celles des autres médecins dans un contexte de colonisation. Un biopic au cœur de la guerre d’Algérie où se livre un combat au nom de l’Humanité.

SYNOPSIS

Frantz Fanon vient d’être nommé médecin chef à l’hôpital psychiatrique de Blida en Algérie. Très vite, ses méthodes innovantes et le traitement humaniste qu’il accorde aux patients algériens lui attirent les foudres de ses confrères et du directeur de l’établissement.

Mais Frantz Fanon n’est pas un homme à se laisser marcher sur les pieds. Sa détermination et ses idées suscitent l’intérêt du FLN et de son chef Abane Ramdane, qui lui propose de rallier la cause.

Dans un contexte où les tensions entre l’armée française et le FLN sont de plus en plus palpables, Frantz Fanon fait figure de traitre. Avec Josie, ils sont pris dans un tourbillon de violence qui les conduit à prendre fait et cause pour l’indépendance de l’Algérie.
