Important Dates

For the 18th time, the film festival Cinema Africa presents a series of films from the African continent. All movies will be shown in Cineplex Bayreuth. Tickets will be available online or at the boxoffice.

19 January 2027, 8 pm: Apagamento

At 8 pm on 19 January, the programme continues with Apagamento, a 2025 production connecting Angola, Mozambique and Brazil. Following the death of his wife, a young Angolan man takes part in a scientific experiment that promises to erase his painful memories. The film raises questions about grief, remembrance and whether escaping the past can truly offer a new beginning. Director Carlos Massingue will attend the screening in person and join the audience for a discussion afterwards.
