12. Reflection and Meditation Space

photo tree

DESCRIPTION

This space is a sanctuary for reflection—a moment to absorb the echoes of history that have shaped the journey. At its centre stands the Tree of Oblivion, a silent witness to loss, remembrance, and resilience. Though small in stature, it carries immense symbolic weight: a space where memory shifts between forgetting and recalling, between trauma and healing. This is a place to pause, to breathe, to sit with the stories and voices that have resonated throughout the exhibition. Here, the fragments of memory — songs, images, narratives — come together in quiet conversation, linking past and present, West Africa and South America. This is where remembrance finds form beyond words, where silence becomes a vessel for history.

Let this space hold what must not be lost. Let memory continue its journey to ensure that oblivion never has the final word.
