We closely cooperate with the African Cluster Centers and other partners of our international network in Africa, Asia and the Americas. The unit is in constant exchange with the international office and the University's gateway offices.

We also address the concern of international fellows in the Bayreuth Academy.

Another working area is the coordination and implementation of all measures of the Cluster in the field of public engagement and knowledge transfer. Our Public Outreach includes activities relating to school visits, together with Afrika@school and the organization of the annual film festival Cinema Africa and related programmes like AfriKaleidoskop.

Since 2019, the Cluster hosts the annual Festival of African and African-Diasporic Literatures, in close cooperation between the IPE unit and the organizers. The previous 8 editions were known as “BIGSAS Festival of African and African Diasporic Literatures”, organized by Prof. Dr. Susan Arndt.

Moreover, IPE hosts an online platform that provides teaching materials and ideas as well as background information for teachers and lecturers in secondary and adult education (German / English),  "Project Learning and Resource Platform Africa".

Members of IPE are in charge of two publications of the IAS: the annual Newsletter (NAB) and the sub-series Africa Multiple connects within the IAS working paper series.

IPE is also responsible for the Cluster’s website and works in close collaboration with our webmaster Farzam Abrishami.

As part of public relations, we are in charge of the CIuster’s press room and social media activities.
